Phil Jackson doing his best job ever

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 6 February 2007 at 1:07 pm

It’s amazing that the Lakers are 30-19 and sitting in the #6 slot in the Western Conference! Injuries have made the Lakers play without Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown for most of the season. Also, starting center Chris Mihm hasn’t played in a game this season because of his bad ankle. So Phil Jackson has done a fantastic job of utilizing his whole roster to get the Lakers where they are right now. He’s also getting great production from Luke Walton and Andrew Bynum this season which will pay dividends for the Lakers in the near future.

Lakers pleased with rookie guard’s play

Blogged under Rookie Report, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Saturday 3 February 2007 at 8:26 pm

The Lakers have been very pleased with the play of rookie guard Jordan Farmar. Farmar has played both shooting guard and point guard for the team and played both of them well. Farmar has played in 45 games and is averaging 16.7 minutes, 5.6 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists. He’s also been a good shooter as he’s hitting 46% from the floor and 35.4% on his three point attempts. Another good thing about Farmar is the Lakers didn’t have to go far to scout him as he played at UCLA in college.
