The Lakers dominated the 2nd half of this game as they outscored the Nets 58-43 on their way to a nice road win. Derek Fisher led the way for the Lakers with 28 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Pau Gasol was outstanding in his Lakers’ debut as he finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Lamar Odom was also busy with 14 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. The Lakers are now 31-16 on the season.

Los Angeles Lakers 103, Washington Wizards 91

The Lakers outscored the Wizards 63-41 in the first half of the game yesterday and they never looked back. They also shot an amazing 56.2% from the floor as a team. Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers with 30 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Vladimir Radmanovic had one of his better games of the season as he finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Lamar Odom pitched in with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The Lakers are now 30-16 on the season.

Los Angeles Lakers 121, Toronto Raptors 101

The Lakers were inspired last night by the trade earlier in the day for Pau Gasol and they shot the lights out in Toronto as they made 55.6% of their shots from the floor. Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers with 46 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Sasha Vujacic was outstanding off of the bench as he finished with 22 points and 2 rebounds in only 26 minutes. Jordan Farmar also had a solid game off the bench as he finished with 13 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists in only 24 minutes. The Lakers are now 29-16 on the season.

The Los Angeles Lakers acquire Pau Gasol from the Grizzlies

The Lakers have acquired power forward/center Pau Gasol from the Grizzlies for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie, the draft rights to Marc Gasol, a first round pick in 2008 (top 3 protected) and a first round pick in 2010 (top 6 protected). Pau Gasol makes the Lakers a legit contender for the NBA Championship this season. Gasol played in 39 games (all starts) this season for the Grizzlies and he averaged 36.7 minutes, 18.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 blocked shots per game. Gasol has shot 50.1% from the floor this season and 81.9% from the free throw line. Gasol has now played in 476 games (470 starts) in his NBA career and he has averaged 35.5 minutes, 18.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.8 blocked shots per game. Gasol has career shooting percentages of 50.9% from the floor, 23% from the three point line and 73% from the free throw line. The Lakers also get a 2010 2nd round draft pick from the Grizzlies. This is a awesome trade for the Lakers!

The Lakers were outscored 23-17 in the 4th quarter and that did them in last night. Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers with 39 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Derek Fisher pitched in with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Ronny Turiaf was solid off of the bench with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. The Lakers are now 28-16 on the season.
