Phil Jackson is back to run the ship for the Los Angeles Lakers

Phil Jackson wanted to only coach the home games this season but Lakers’ management told him that he had to coach either all or none of the games this season. So he decided to return to try to win his 11th NBA Championship as a head coach. He led the Lakers to a 65-17 (79.3%) record during the regular season and a 16-7 (69.6%) post season record to win his 10th NBA Championship. He has now been the head coach of the Lakers for nine seasons compiling a regular season record of 496-242 (67.2%) and he also has a post season record of 98-50 (66.2%). Jackson now has a overall NBA record as a head coach of 1,041-435 (70.5%) during the regular season in his career and he is 209-91 (69.7%) in the post season. It’s hard to argue that Phil Jackson has one of the most sparkling records in NBA history as a head coach but one has to wonder how good of a coach he would be if he had the roster of the Charlotte Bobcats. Still, he is the perfect leader for the Lakers.
