At the end of regulation Kobe Bryant’s fadeaway jumper from the left elbow was off and the game went into overtime.  Kobe usually doesn’t miss the same shot twice, so when he got another opportunity at the end of overtime to win the game, he went to the same spot and swooshed it at the buzzer to give the Los Angeles Lakers (20-4) the win over the Milwaukee Bucks (11-2).  Kobe finished with 39 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 1 steal.  The Lakers shot 47% from the field and outrebounded the Bucks 47-38, with Pau Gasol doing some great work on the glass.  He had a monster game with 26 points, 22 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks, and 1 steal.  The Lakers did have 17 turnovers though, something they need to cut down on.  This was a game the Lakers expect to win, so it was a good road victory for them.  It looks like Kobe’s broken finger isn’t effecting his shot too much.

Los Angeles Lakers 96, Chicago Bulls 87

Despite having a broken finger, Kobe Bryant scored a season-high 42 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers (19-4) to a win on the road over the Chicago Bulls (8-15).  Kobe came out hot, and hit 8-12 shots in the first quarter to give him 20 points after one.  The Bulls stayed close throughout though, and were even leading by one after three quarters.  The Lakers defense buckled down in the final quarter, holding the Bulls to 14 4th quarter points.  The Lakers really needed a big night from Kobe, as only two other players scored in double figures for the Lakers.  They were also out-rebounded by the Bulls 51-37.  Pau Gasol did his part though, grabbing 16 rebounds and scoring 10 points.  Derrick Rose led the Bulls with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists while Bulls’ center Joakim Noah added 11 points, 20 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 6 blocks.  This was only the sixth road game of the year for the Lakers where they are now 4-2.

The Lakers didn’t play any D last night as the Jazz shot 51.9% from the floor and that was the biggest reason for the loss last night. Pau Gasol led the way for the Lakers last night with 16 points, 20 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Ron Artest pitched in with 16 points and 2 rebounds last night. Kobe didn’t shoot too well last night hitting only 7 of 24 shots from the floor but he still finished up with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The Lakers are now 18-4 on the year.
