The Lakers just couldn’t keep up with the Clippers last night.  Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers last night with 42 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 blocked shot.  Pau Gasol (14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 blocked shot) and Andrew Bynum (12 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists) also pitched in for the Lakers last night.  The Lakers are now 9-5 on the year.

The Lakers held the Cavs to 37.6% from the floor last night and it was a big key to the win.  Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers last night with 42 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.  Pau Gasol also had a big game with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Matt Barnes (15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 blocked shot) and Andrew Bynum (15 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots) also pitched in for the Lakers last night.  The Lakers are now 9-4 on the season.

The Lakers have aspirations of winning an NBA title, so they don’t have much P.T. for their rookies right now.  23-year old guard Andrew Goudelock played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 7.0 minutes, 1.4 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  He is only shooting 23.1% (3 of 13) from the floor so far this year, which isn’t going to help him get P.T. any time soon.  21-year old guard Darius Morris has played in 1 game for the Lakers so far this year in which he worked 13 minutes and scored 4 points, grabbed 1 rebound and dished out 2 assists.

Los Angeles Lakers 90, Utah Jazz 87 in O.T.

The Lakers held the Jazz to 38.7% shooting from the floor, which was the big reason for the win last night.  Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers last night with 40 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot.  Pau Gasol (14 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist) and Andrew Bynum (12 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 5 blocked shots) did the dirty work close to the basket.  Matt Barnes pitched in with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.  The Lakers are now 8-4 on the year.

Los Angeles Lakers 99, Phoenix Suns 83

The Lakers outscored the Suns 26-15 in the 4th quarter last night and they outrebounded the Suns 49-35 in this game, which helps explain the nice home win.  Kobe Bryant was out of this world in this game.  He finished up with 48 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in this game!  Pau Gasol (16 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists) and Andrew Bynum (12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots) also pitched in for the Lakers with solid games last night.  The Lakers are now 7-4 on the year.

Matt Barnes is stepping up for the Los Angeles Lakers

31-year old small forward Matt Barnes has really played well in his last couple of games.  In his last two games, Barnes is averaging 33 minutes, 15.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocked shots per game.  He has now played in 8 games (6 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 22.3 minutes, 8.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocked shots.  He is also shooting 52.3% from the floor so far this year, which is outstanding.  Barnes has cemented his role as the starting small forward of the Lakers due to his recent play.  They hope he can keep up the good work.

Los Angeles Lakers 90, Memphis Grizzlies 82

The Lakers outrebounded the Grizzlies 53-34 last night and it was a big reason for the nice home win.  Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers in this game with 26 points, 2 rebounds, 9 assists and 1 blocked shot.  Matt Barnes got another start at small forward and he filled up the stat sheet with 15 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocked shots in 35 minutes on the floor.  Andrew Bynum (15 points, 15 rebounds and 2 steals) and Pau Gasol (13 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot) were outstanding around the basket last night.  Steve Blake pitched in with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal in 24 minutes off the bench.  The Lakers are now 6-4 on the year.

The Lakers outrebounded the Warriors 47-34 last night and it was a big key to victory.  Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers in this game with 39 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists.  Pau Gasol filled up the stat sheet with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocked shots last night.  Matt Barnes got the start at small forward for the Lakers last night and he responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steal on 7 of 9 shooting from the floor in 30 minutes on the court.  The Lakers are now 5-4 on the year.

Portland Trailblazers 107, Los Angeles Lakers 96

The Lakers just couldn’t keep up with the Blazers last night in Portland.  Kobe Bryant led the way for the Lakers in this game with 30 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.  Andrew Bynum (21 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocked shots) and Pau Gasol (19 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots) also had solid games for the Lakers last night.  The Lakers are now 4-4 on the year.

24-year old center Andrew Bynum missed the first four games of this season due to an NBA suspension due to his hard foul of J.J. Barea in the playoffs last year.  Bynum is making up for lost time for the Lakers so far.  He has played in 3 games (all starts) so far for the Lakers this year and he is averaging 32.7 minutes, 22.7 points, 17.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per game.  Bynum is shooting 62.2% from the floor as he has been virtually unstoppable in the paint so far this year.
