The Los Angeles Lakers don’t have much P.T. for their rookies

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Thursday 12 January 2012 at 6:21 pm

The Lakers have aspirations of winning an NBA title, so they don’t have much P.T. for their rookies right now.  23-year old guard Andrew Goudelock played in 7 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 7.0 minutes, 1.4 points, 0.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  He is only shooting 23.1% (3 of 13) from the floor so far this year, which isn’t going to help him get P.T. any time soon.  21-year old guard Darius Morris has played in 1 game for the Lakers so far this year in which he worked 13 minutes and scored 4 points, grabbed 1 rebound and dished out 2 assists.

The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t have much P.T. for their rookies in 2010-11

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Saturday 16 April 2011 at 4:48 pm

The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t have much P.T. available for rookies, but that happens when the goal is to win the NBA Championship.  22-year old power forward Derrick Caracter played in 41 games (0 starts) for the Lakers this year and he averaged 5.2 minutes, 2.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 0.2 assists per game.  21-year old small forward Devin Ebanks had a leg injury that cut his rookie season short.  Ebanks played in 20 games (0 starts) for the Lakers this year and he averaged 5.9 minutes, 3.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.  They will likely be sitting at the end of the Lakers’ bench for a while before they can a chance to really help out the team.

Derek Caracter isn’t getting much P.T. for the Los Angeles Lakers this season

22-year old rookie power forward Derek Caracter isn’t getting off the bench much so far this year for the Lakers.  Caracter has played in 38 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 5.4 minutes, 2.1 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game.  Despite rarely getting off the bench, the Lakers like Caracter who they think will be able to handle a bigger workload down the road.

The Los Angeles Lakers lose Devin Ebanks for the next three weeks

Blogged under Big Lakers News,Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Injuries,Rookie Report by admin on Friday 4 March 2011 at 10:06 pm

21-year old rookie small forward Devin Ebanks will miss at least the next three weeks for the Lakers due to a stress fracture in his lower leg.  Ebanks has played in 20 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 5.9 minutes, 3.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.  The Lakers won’t miss Ebanks too much as he was only getting on the court in garbage time.

The rookies on the Los Angeles Lakers watch and learn

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Tuesday 18 January 2011 at 10:34 pm

The Lakers don’t have much P.T. available for their rookies except in blowout games like the one over the Cavs recently, for example.  22-year old power forward/center Derrick Caracter has played in 29 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 5.9 minutes, 2.4 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game.  Caracter isn’t intimidated by the NBA so far as he is shooting 51.9% from the floor so far this year.  21-year old small forward Devin Ebanks has only played in 13 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 6.5 minutes, 3.2 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.  Caracter & Ebanks are going to have to be patient and take advantage of the limited playing time that they are going to get this year.  They will continue to improve as players though because they are practicing against some pretty good players.

The Los Angeles Lakers send Devin Ebanks to the D-League

Blogged under Bloglockers,Comings & Goings,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Tuesday 28 December 2010 at 1:40 pm

The Lakers have sent 21-year old small forward Devin Ebanks to the D-League to get more playing time.  Ebanks has played in 12 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 6.4 minutes, 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.  He will be playing for the Bakersfield Jam for the time being and it was the right move for the Lakers to make.

Garbage time is all that’s available to the rookies of the Los Angeles Lakers

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by admin on Thursday 23 December 2010 at 1:04 am

The Los Angeles Lakers have their eyes on winning another championship so the rookies will only likely get P.T. in garbage time this year.  22-year old PF/C Derrick Caracter has played in 22 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 6.7 minutes, 2.4 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game.  21-year old forward Devin Ebanks has played in 12 games (0 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 6.4 minutes, 2.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.1 assists per game.  The Lakers like Caracter & Ebanks so their roles will probably grow down the road, but for now they are basically practice players.

The Los Angeles Lakers don’t have much time for rookies this year

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by alleyoop on Thursday 18 November 2010 at 4:46 pm

22-year old power forward Derrick Caracter and 21-year old Devin Ebanks will have to watch and learn this season. Caracter has played in 9 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 6.8 minutes, 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. Ebanks has played in 6 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 7.2 minutes, 2.5 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.2 assists per game. The Lakers are a veteran laden team so I only see the rookies getting P.T. during mop up time.

The Los Angeles Lakers didn’t get a lot out of their rookies, but……..

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by alleyoop on Thursday 22 May 2008 at 11:19 am

The Lakers didn’t get a lot of production from first round pick (G) Javaris Crittenton, but, he was the key in the Pau Gasol trade so last June’s Draft has to be graded as very positive. Forward Coby Karl didn’t play very well but he didn’t get much of a chance to show what he could do. Karl played in 17 games (0 starts) for the Lakers this season and he averaged 4.2 minutes, 1.8 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Karl only shot 34.6% from the floor and he likely won’t get more playing time unless he shoots better.

Coby Karl is the only rookie left on the Los Angeles Lakers roster

Blogged under Bloglockers,Front Page,General,Rookie Report by alleyoop on Sunday 2 March 2008 at 1:06 pm

With the trade of Javaris Crittenton to the Grizzlies, Karl is the lone rookie on the Lakers roster. Karl has played in 14 games (0 starts) this season for the Lakers and he is averaging 3.7 minutes, 1.4 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game. Karl is only shooting 28.6% from the floor but it’s hard for him to get into a rhythm due to lack of playing time. Still, his playing time likely won’t change any time soon as Karl is buried on the depth chart.
