Kobe Bryant (26 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist), Paul Gasol (24 points, 16 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocked shots) and Andrew Bynum (21 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocked shots) led the way for the Lakers last night. The Lakers need some of the other players to start helping out offensively, because it’s hard to essentially play 3 on 5 at the offensive end of the court. The Lakers are now 14-10 on the year.

Pau Gasol was a beast around the glass as he finished up with 13 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 blocked shot in this game. Andrew Goudelock (13 points, 2 rebounds and 1 steal in 20 minutes) and Derek Fisher (10 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 2 steals) also pitched in for the Lakers in this game. Kobe Bryant has played in 21 games (all starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 38.6 minutes, 30.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He is having an awful time from three point range as he has only hit 28 of 96 (29.2%) shots from there. The Lakers are going to wear out Kobe and they aren’t going to win many games if they don’t use Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and more of the team offensively in 2012.

Andrew Bynum also had a pretty solid game with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocked shots last night. Andrew Goudelock (13 points and 1 assist in 23 minutes) and Paul Gasol (12 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 blocked shot on 5 of 15 shooting from the floor) also pitched in for the Lakers last night. The Lakers are now 11-9 on the year.

Metta World Peace has been awful for the Los Angeles Lakers this year

32-year old small forward Metta World Peace looks like he’s more than content to do the least he can to still pick up his paycheck. He has played in 18 games (0 starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 20.9 minutes, 5.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. The basket must look like it has a lid on it to Metta World Peace as he is only shooting 33.9% from the floor and 15.8% from three point range so far this year. If he doesn’t start the pick up the pace, head coach Mike Brown will probably nail his butt to the bench.

Derek Fisher is looking his age for the Los Angeles Lakers

37-year old point guard Derek Fisher is starting to act his age. He has played in 19 games (all starts) for the Lakers so far this year and he is averaging 26.1 minutes, 5.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game. Fisher is only shooting 35.8% from the floor and 30.3% from three point range so far this year, which is pathetic. Derek Fisher is looking like a player running on fumes as he has not been helping the Lakers’ cause at all this year. Fisher’s days of starting could be nearing an end for the Lakers if he doesn’t start shooting better.

Rookie guard Andrew Goudelock had a very solid game off the bench with 14 points and 2 rebounds in 20 minutes on the floor. Derek Fisher only shot 2 of 9 from the floor but he still finished up with 11 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist in this game. The Lakers are now 11-8 on the year.
